Organic Lead Speciation by EPA Method 8082 Modified, GC/ECD

This test is used to provide information on whether any of the five species of organic lead [tetramethyl lead (TML), trimethylethyl lead, tetraethyl lead (TEL), dimethyldiethyl lead, and methyltriethyl lead] are present in a sample.  This information can be useful in determining if any leaded gasoline or leaded gasoline residue is present in a sample.  The results reported from this analysis are a list of the numerical concentrations of the five lead species.  In addition, GC/ECD technique can be used to quantify the presence of organic manganese (MMT - methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl).
